"Two sexual assaults in Waterloo are under joint investigation by Waterloo Region police and Wilfrid Laurier University's special constable service.

The first assault happened early Friday at 1:30 a.m. on Hazel Street, when a man approached and inappropriately grabbed a 21-year-old woman from behind.

The second incident happened half-an-hour later on Lester Street, when a man grabbed two women, aged 21 and 22, from behind.

According to a press release, there was a "physical altercation" following the second incident, which ended with the man running down the street towards University Avenue.

In both cases, the man was described as being five feet 10 inches and in his early 20s, with brown skin and short brown hair.

None of the women were physically injured during the assaults."

    1. Wouldn't it matter that the ass grabs were on a public street and not on campus? Why is WLU involved?

  4. 3a, Universities look at sexual harassment that's university-related. Police investigate sexual assault in the whole region. Maybe they don't know yet if it's linked to WLU.
