OMG: I think I may have social anxiety. Used to be super outgoing but recently I've just been hiding in my shell a lot, and I am feeling worse about myself every day. Classmates don't help. Any services on campus I could go to? I can't afford a real therapist and I don't want to travel far to find one. Thanks

  1. Counseling services is free to students! There is also a MATES services where upper year psychology students do peer counselling. Glow and Women's Centre in SLC also have peer support counselling in the evenings during the week, which are really chill and walk in if thats more what you're looking for.

  2. There is a therapy group specifically for people suffering from social anxiety on campus. It's through the centre for mental health research, in the PAS building. I think the group is held three times a year. Definitely check out the CMHR website.

    1. writing makes me feel good too. talk to a friend or use your creative outlet. I would suggest going to counseling only when you feel like you cant handle it your self.
