OMG:
All human lives are equally valuable, regardless of race or ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, whether or not you've been born yet, whether or not you are a convicted criminal, and whether or not you have a chronic or terminal illness.
Everyone, from both sides of the political spectrum, seems to cherry-pick the criteria they like from that list, but they're all important.
>whether or not you are a convicted criminal
ReplyDeleteThe life of a mass murderer is not at all equal in value to that of a righteous person.
Then where is the line? Are you still equally human if you just kill one person? What if it's manslaughter? What if you just hurt someone?
DeleteIf you're suggesting that there's some sort of spectrum, then you're saying that some people are better than others, and then you have to start wondering what else makes some people better than others... have fun with that.
>Then where is the line?
DeleteSee below about spectrum.
>have fun with that
Not my job, but you could hit up some ethicists if you're at all interested; they deal with this shit for a living.
I'm not in need of an ethicist. I know exactly where I stand.
DeleteIf you reject equality, obviously there is no common ground for us to build any discussion upon.
I hope that you will come to change your mind in time.
That's what I've always been saying. All lives matter!

Delete>All lives are equally valuable
ReplyDeleteValuable to whom? There's no inherent universal value in a bumbling system of chemicals.
Are all lives equally valuable to you? Great. Not for me.
3 - eh. OP's post is trite, but your nihilistic argument does even less for me than that. We would all be better off with at least a little humanism in our lives.
ReplyDeleteWe're operating on different wavelengths. You're concerned with what belief is most valuable to hold; I'm concerned with what's actually true.
DeleteBoth are important, and you can have them both with compartmentalization.
^More or less. I'm not convinced "actually true" is something that exists or even matters... but that's a separate discussion.
DeleteIn principle, yes. In practice, hell fucking no!
ReplyDeleteSorry mate, but that OP...it's just wrong. Not all of these forms are even to be considered human. Certain ethnicities and religions are subspecies, I refer to them as creatures, not actually humans. You shouldn't insult humans by calling those creatures humans, they're on a completely different wavelength! Nasty, filthy-assed creatures!
ReplyDeleteWould you kill yourself to save two homeless meth abusing druggies op?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't kill myself to save the whole human race fam
