OMG:

I feel so guilty every time I watch porn. I have to delete my search history and I feel like shit. The women and men are completely degraded. And I know it's not anything like real sex :(

  1. This is honestly an interesting topic, and people don't talk about it enough because our society has some weird hangups when it comes to talking publicly about sexuality (self-pleasure and porn in particular).

Without being too long-winded, IMO you needn't feel guilty about watching porn - BUT you should probably try to be honest with yourself about why you watch it, what you enjoy about it, and what your own personal preferences are.

As far as degradation goes, the key thing about porn is that it's really only been designed to stimulate one sense - and the people making it know that. So every shot, every image is designed purely to create titilation, rather than empathy - you see the people in a porno as sexual objects to excite and gratify you, rather than as fellow human beings. The guilt comes in after the fact, when arousal dies down and your brain starts processing the fact that, camera work aside, those *were* human beings and you effectively used them as a means to an end. That won't bother everybody - but it does bother a lot of people. Depending on the content of the work itself (is it violent sex? gang bang? or something more vanilla?), that feeling may or may not be heightened.

There are two key things to remember, that might help you out.
First, remember that it IS staged. Those people ARE actors - they are fully aware of what they are doing, what purpose it serves, and they have consented to it. That at least makes the work itself ETHICAL - you aren't literally watching people be degraded for your pleasure (note: this does not apply to revenge porn, which I always recommend avoiding for exactly this reason).
Second - as I said before, be honest with yourself. Pay attention to what you're watching, and ask yourself why *that* particular video does it for you when others might not. Remember, it's okay to have kinky preferences! Recognize that you have needs and sexual urges just like every other human being, and that porn is one of the most widely consumed types of media on the planet for a reason. And if you think what you're watching is too much, and you can't reconcile the content with your desires... then don't watch. Draw a line for yourself, and don't cross it.

...and if you want something more human/intimate, I'd personally recommend Beautiful Agony. Self-made videos of people (girls, guys, trans, you name it) getting themselves off - but the camera only focuses on the face and nothing else. Part porn, part art project. Totally captivating, at least for me.

  3. I agree with OP, which is why I exclusively read Hentai. I can't even get off to 3d girls anymore.

  5. quitting is a hard, but ultimately fulfilling, road to travel

If you can't quit then you know you've got an addiction.

  6. Watch amateur stuff brah. Whether or not it's actually real you can usually find something amateur that's believably a real couple in love or otherwise lust. Now why that turns me on is anyone's best guess.

Personally, as with the music industry I sincerely hoped the advent of free digital media would destroy the porn industry and leave only performers who do it for the fun of it. Big money ruins any artistic or quasi-artistic endeavor. Unfortunately, the industry leeches seem to have figured out how to keep the money flowing in both cases...

  7. You need to quit. The vast majority these days use porn, which is why it is being accepted as normal when it shouldn't be. Anyone telling you otherwise has some strong cognitive dissonance. The stimulus you get from porn is much stronger/more frequent than you could possibly get naturally, i.e pre-internet days. There's a large amount of literature surrounding the harmful effects of porn, just Google it. And I'm not talking some priest telling you its bad, I'm talking neurological rewiring of brain pathways.

Another thing. I guarantee you everyone who started watching porn felt guilty, naturally. Isn't that interesting. Only after using it for a long time do people stop feeling guilty, which is almost the point of no return, quite tragic indeed.

You've probably thought about quitting, then though how daunting the task seems. I can assure you its hard, but doable, and very very far from impossible.

    1. I'd actually argue that the guilt people feel from watching porn is the product of a) our society's bizarre hangups that prevent us from talking about sex and sexual urges in any sort of natural, thoughtful way; and b) that lack of communication making it difficult for us to examine the porn we watch and place it in its appropriate context as a piece of media made by people, with a message and for a purpose.

    2. Listen to this person OP.

Porn is terrible for your mental health, stamina, testosterone levels (assuming you're a guy) and your relationships with women.

I'm not saying this as some kind of feminist or something. I hate feminists. There's no refuting that porn is awful for you and it contributes tremendously to the mental health problems we see in people today.

It also explains why people are so degenerate; all the casual sex and hookup culture l, drinking and drugs.. Etc..

    3. 7b, you lost me with your final sentence. There's nothing degenerate about casual sex or hookup culture. Drinking and drugs aren't necessarily destructive activities, either.

  8. As a guy who has been told he should get into porn to attract more female viewers: I got nothing. Just wanted to brag. I'm not a fan of California really. Too many wannabes.

  9. Go and enjoy your porn. Otherwise you're going to have to spend thousands of dollars to hook up with someone, and that's never any fun. Be proud of what you do and have no shame in it. Whatever your niche is, be it homosexual midgets or even Brazilian fart porn, be proud of what you do. Life sucks, pal, porn is one of the few wonderful acts of God that we were, clearly, meant to embrace with open arms.

  10. Might I suggest makelovenotporn.TV not degrading, is real sex, and unlike amature porn is not manipulated with submission criteria. Have fun!
