OMG: Guess im not the only one annoyed at these obnoxious chinese posters spammed in lester buildings.. people are ripping them off the wall and shredding them apart now. i guess they just starting to realize that it wont be long until the plaza/lester will transition into mini-chinatown
It already is a mini chinatown. 80% of the restaurants in the plaza are Chinese. Supply and demand I guess. Unfortunate but sadly the truth.
ReplyDeleteHaving a mini-chinatown would be nice... as long as it isn't more waterloo star/empire clones, having some variety like Sugar Marmalade would be nice.
ReplyDeleteTNT? yes please
ReplyDeleteThis shit bothers me. I see it all the time in MC too. Posters that are only in chinese shouldn't be up. They should be translated into english as well.
ReplyDeleteHave you been to Markham and Richmond Hill? You'd never know you were in Canada. Canada...the global suburb that used to be a country.
ReplyDeletethat is outrageous. time to start a race war!! who's with me?
ReplyDeleteRACE WAR! RACE WAR!
Delete我觉得这些中文广告很不错。我爱滑铁卢学生!工作好,基本文化都好。
ReplyDeleteOn a more serious note, I once saw an entire math class on statistical theory in MC taught in Mandarin Chinese.
so fucking what?
DeleteThat's legit stupid
DeleteI honestly don't mind. Group them all together and keep them and their goldfish-level social skills away from me.
ReplyDeleteMy fucking TA speaks mandarin during tutorial center hours. I feel so goddamn isolated. When you come to a new country, you need to adapt at least a little bit and broaden your friend groups. I wonder if these internationals know they are the main reason our school is known for being boring.
ReplyDeleteboo hoo Chinese people speak Mandarin to one another, That's why we can't have nice things.
DeleteMan y'all jealous they came here, Barely knowing the language and still getting better grades then most of the non-chinese students here.
ReplyDeleteNo im not chinese/asian but i don't hate them for such a ridiculous reason. Let them do their own thing, Theyll get their degree and leave the country to make absurd amounts of money in the states/china.
Yall jelly af bruh
Most of them actually try to become permanent residents and stay here. I wish it was only temporary. Their parents (the not insanely wealthy ones) don't pinch pennies to send them here and have them go back to China when they're done. All Chinese people know that the quality of life is way better here, and that's why you see so many Chinese international students.
DeleteAre you a jealous peasant? We're going to take over UW
