OMG:

If a guy/girl asks you out and you're not interested, just say you're not interested. Beating around the bush in order to spare feelings just wastes everyone's time and doesn't spare any feelings in the end anyway.

100% agreed.

BTW, if you say 'I have a boyfriend (or girlfriend)' and you really don't you are lame as hell and should go back to grade 10 and start again.
