I don't actually think Harper has any opinions on Christians or non-Christians.
Nor has he been particularly responsible for any environmental destruction, so much as he's been inactive on it.
He's done plenty of poor things over the years, and there's lots to - very justifiably - attack him over, without stretching the truth or making things up at all, so why do it?
Not true that he's been inactive on the environmental front, he removed policies that protected hundreds of lakes and rivers so that they could be sold to mining companies for use as tailing dumps. He also allowed a portion of the keystone XL to go through the Chippewas of the Thames reserve without consent, which is protected land under treaty rights, and even though they are still pending ruling from the Supreme Court whether the treaty will be upheld, the government gave big oil the go-ahead to go through anyway. Harper is literally a terrorist.
1a, either you need to look up the definition of 'literally,' or 'terrorist.' Either way you're engaged in MASSIVE hyperbole right now - none of the things you described are evil or anything. Doesn't mean I agree with them, of course (I don't really) - but I don't hate him for it, and I understand why it's something his base (especially his very devoted funding base in Alberta) might want something like that.
He's a textbook sociopath. Have you ever seen that photo of him holding a kitten? Clearly a painfully orchestrated photo op to try and market the image of him as a caring leader. His advisors KNOW he's devoid of empathy and were trying to push the illusion that he's a nice guy because coldness doesn't win votes with regular folk. Anyone who's not an idiot can see right through it.
9 years on, and I still find these sorts of arguments very strange. He's a politician. A very socially awkward politician. He's made some decisions over the years people agree with, other decisions that people don't, and lately seems like he can't distinguish his policy objectives from his party's political gains anymore (hence the scandals/accusations of corruption). Nothing about that makes him, like, the anti-christ.
If he was as sociopathic as you say, he probably would've done the smart thing that most high-functioning sociopaths do - avoid public life altogether, and become an executive at a multi-billion dollar corporation.
