  1. Seriously, this was just a stupid question and you sound like a whiny twat. Get over yourself. Unless these Christian groups are doing something to inconvenience you, then you have no reason to complain.

    1. I will make sure to get over myself and ask you for permission to validate my inconvenience before complaining about anything in future.

    2. Assuming 1a is OP, I have a question: why do you care if there are Christian clubs on campus?

    3. accosting me and pushing Jesus (or religion in general) on me when I try to wall through the SLC is just as bad as trying to sell me a credit card or rent your shitty apartment complex.

every religious group takes up space that could otherwise be occupied by a legitimately progressive group.

    4. Progressivism is worse than religion.

  2. Maybe you should go to one and see why they get their own club. It's pretty awesome from what I hear.

    1. Waterloo has 3 Catholic, 3 Anglican, 4 Lutheran, 3 Baptist, 1 reformed, 2 new apostolic, 3 Pentecostal, 2 Presbyterian, 3 evangelical, 5 mennonite, 1 Unitarian, 5 United, 2 orthodox, 1 antiochian orthodox and 5 other non denominational Christian churches. For a grand total of 40 Christian churches of various denominations and sects.

Conversely, Sikhism, Islam, Judaism, Hindu, Budhist, Baha'i and the Chinese Alliance churches share a sad total of 10 places of worship in the Waterloo area.

Student funded clubs are definitely more justified for marginalized religions and student body associations. But why should students have tobfinancially support or have university resources allocated towards fostering a sense of Christian community on campus when they are already so accommodated? Where is the opt out for my feds fees in supporting an already culturally dominanting religious club?

    2. lol, clubs are a community service that ought to reflect community characteristics. If Waterloo is a predominantly Christian community and if UW has many Christian students then it is absolutely appropriate for those students to be allowed to form a club in which they can fellowship, discuss and practice their religion, and engage with the broader university community as a Christian body. And the same goes for any other religion or sub-community of UW students.

The university is a place of learning, not a tool for diminishing the cultural influence of groups you don't like. Fuck off with this counting places of worship horseshit.

We're in Canada for fuck's sake. The majority of the tax dollars funding this place come from white Christians. We don't owe Christianity special deference but orienting the institution into an antagonistic relationship with its Christian members is both stupid and morally repulsive.

    3. True, except the 'morally repulsive' bit. Okay Satan.

    4. Sikh guy here: 5.a that was one of the more ignorant things I've seen in quite a long time. These groups should be proportionate to how much of the population is from a certain demographic. There has to be 10 Christians in Waterloo for every guy like me.

Sadly, your blind hatred for a dominant religion clouds your judgement on this issue. Grow up and get a grip on reality.

  6. How do people like you even get into Waterloo? Like is this even a serious question? I'm not even going to bother answering it because its self explanatory

    1. Because university admission is based on academics not morals or an interest in funding religious social clubs. I'm not even going to bother drawing parallels because its self explanatory.
