OMG: ARRRGHHH the people on my apartment floor are SO damn loud every night. How do I stop this? Do I reach out to the people who own the building? I don't wanna be rude and confront them directly.

  1. its better to reach out to them directly (either a text or a little note) politely explain the situation. There's a good chance they probably don't know how far the noise is carrying and will be apologetic and embarrassed. If this doesn't work, then you go to the owners.
I think it's more rude to go to the owners and get them into trouble without first going to them directly. we're all just human beings after all.

  2. What 1 said. I'd be pissed if someone went directly to management or a city noise complaint. Leave a letter or go knock and just explain it. I'm always worried I'm too loud. Hell maybe I'm your neighbour.

  3. It's best to complain to management because 1) they will do it again and 2) you shouldn't have to be the one to be confrontational, it can be scary at times especially with strangers.

  4. Contact police if it is after 11pm.

  5. I'ts not rude to politely ask them to do something they should be doing. Try writing a letter to them first to avoid confrontations and if they're still at it, contact management.
