OMG: Sometimes I have the assumption that all international students HAVE to be rich in their home countries to be studying here without taking out loans. But I might be incorrect.

  1. Without taking out loans?

Yes, you have to be rich. Otherwise, not really.

  2. My parents didn't take out a loan to pay for tuition. I would not say they are rich. Sure, we are well off but not rich.

Think it's all a matter of priorities, instead of spending more for a bigger house they opted to invest in their children's education.

But yeah I've noticed people do assume I'm loaded all the time. I usually let them believe what they want to without confirming or denying anything.

    1. " I usually let them believe what they want to without confirming or denying anything.". But why not just tell them the truth?

    2. I didn't lie to them. People hear what they want to hear.

      what difference does it make

  3. My personality wouldn't be much different if I was rich or not. I don't expect/hope to be treated differently.

  4. My family sold a house and my mum and brothers moved in with my maternal grandma. That's how I'm here. I barely go to any classes because I spend all my time in Toronto doing IT work on contracts and spit handshakes. Fuck you.
