OMG: I just graduated with a degree in Science and am still having a tough time finding a job. A white friend of mine graduate with an Arts degree and gets a job right away? Privilege at its finest...

  1. Way to completely disregard people's efforts and reduce them to a single dimension.

  2. Man, sometimes I wish I wasn't a white male so I could blame all my failures on racism (aka blame it on white males).

  3. Maybe - just maybe (hear me out here) - you're actually kind of shifty?

  4. My sister has a science degree and struggles to get a job while I easily get jobs with my arts degree. We are the same race.

No privilege...the job market just wants what the job market wants!

  5. >Gets only a bachelors in a field where professional/graduate degree is required for relevant work
    >Is surprised when someone with a degree that doesn't require further study gets an entry level job
    >Being this retarded

    1. I have a Bach of Science and find the further study thing quite true. Just looking at job posting descriptions, they're constantly looking for those with more specialized expertise.

    2. @5.a Plus it really depends on the company. Just looking online there are places that want a software engineer with at least five years experience for $18/hr. They aren't going to get it of course, but they'll try. Scumbag businesses inflating job requirements when their own HR teams probably couldn't count to ten.

    3. @5a: you should have gotten a Mozart of Science instead

  8. OP maybe your resume just isn't that great. Maybe you don't interview well. Maybe people just don't like you that much. People like you who always use race as a cop out make the rest of us look bad.

  10. It's like that everywhere and the only people who are safe are rich white males. Seriously. One of my friends is an archaeologist and he's been working at Starbucks for the last 2 years to pay the bills. It's bourgeoise privelege that you're truly seeing.
