OMG:
It is now clear beyond a doubt that the Feds are, as a whole, power-hungry a-holes and douchebags. And not just the elected members, but I'm all the full time staff, too.

    1. I'm not OP, but contrary to popular belief, not voting does not take away your right to complain - especially not if you think voting wouldn't have made a difference anyway (regardless of which candidate won the election).

    2. 1 - If I voted but declined all my ballots, would I now be the best person ever because I took the time to vote but did not actually support all the shit candidates?

  2. I wouldn't go that far OP. They're an organization primarily concerned with being a bigger organization. Yes, there's "student needs" theoretically at the heart of this, but they're all throughly convinced that "more Feds = better for students," in all situations. Organizations like Imprint are things outside of their control, and therefore are risk-carrying wildcards (a negative), whose actions may at any time be running contrary to the message Feds wants students to see. When such things take up space that could otherwise be used by Feds, that creates a problem which must be resolved.

It's a shame our student life has become so adversarial....

  4. Can someone explain why a student union would have any position of power held by UW staff? To me it moves FEDs towards being a puppet of UW admin and their motivations. And it removes FEDs ability to do acts in the students' best interest that aren't in the interests of UW the institution and their reputation.

    1. There are no UW staff working for Feds. The full-time staff are employed by Feds. But in order to ensure Job stability for the staff and to avoid poaching by the university, Feds and UW have an agreement to use the same pay scales, and the university is on the hook for severance pay if Feds ever goes bankrupt.
