OMG: In 2014, there were only 1234 female engineering students enrolled full time at UWaterloo. Compared to 5406 male students enrolled in 2014. Damn.

You can get the statistics "Institutional Analysis & Planning" section of the website.

  1. Yea, I believe there is quite a bit of plan and work going into attracting more females into STEM. It's pretty old news now.

  2. And tell me, what are enrollment rates for men overall, across all programs, compared to women? Damn.

    2. Wow 3, how is this sexist? All OP did was state a fact. This is why people hate feminists, they assume everything is a sexist comment. STFU please

    3. You're assuming that I'm assuming that everything is a sexist comment. He stated three facts. Learn to count. Two of the facts clearly tried to highlight a difference between the two sexes. This is sexist. The third fact was a reference to the findings. Not sexist. So, this is only 66% sexist. While that may fall below your threshold of what defines a statement as being sexist, I believe you are mistaken. You also assume that I am a feminists when I actually disagree with all viewpoints and statistical attempts to prove that people are not equal.

  5. I mean admittance doesn't really tell you the whole story. To be able to get anything out of it you'd also need to know the total number of applicants broken down by gender.

Take the unlikely possibility that 1234 female applicants applied and all were accepted, but say 50% of male applicants were rejected. Just one number doesn't tell the whole story.
