OMG: I don't get why people don't go to classes for hard courses. If the material is hard, you should probably be attending lectures even if you don't want to, because that's sort of the point of you being at university...

What, do you have something more important to do than the thing to which you owe your namesake as a 'student'?

  2. Different people find different courses hard.

  4. They are too busy hiring grad students to do their exams to go to class.

  5. -Everyone learns differently.

-No matter how awake I am I have trouble staying awake in class, it's just something that happens.

    -Hard is subjective.

  6. Mommie and daddie pay for a lot of these students, they never have to be accountable for anything. No responsibility = people who don't give a fuck.

    2. Yeah or you know they have difficulty holding attention for 3 hours in a small room. This is my problem. I go to all of my 50 minute lectures and my 80 minute lectures, but I can't focus for 3 hours in a row so I usually either go and have to leave for 15 minutes or so and come back, or I just learn it at home since you know... all the information is available to you at all times.

  7. I don't go to class and still have 80 plus because I just teach myself from course notes even if it's a hard course. I am in math so maybe that's why

    1. I do the same thing as well. Textbooks+course notes+additional resources if need be. I can't miss a point a professor talks about because I zoned out, if I don't understand something I can take as much time and hear as many different explanations as I need, and everything you need to know is generally outlined clearly.

And to answer the main question, I don't go to hard classes so I'm not wasting time in class I could be using to learn 2-3x as much w/o having to do all the leaving the house/commuting-related tasks that otherwise needlessly waste time. It's way more effective to skip class by far ime.

  9. eh some of us are slammed with assignments, projects and exams that getting those done takes precedence over attending class.

    1. That has been my experience, too. I actually enjoy going to class. Having to skip class in order to finish projects and lab assignments is a big source of stress for me.

    2. How is skipping an opportunity to get assignments done?

  10. how about instead of going to class i get ahead with teaching myself the content because thats what im going to have to do anyways. maybe that way ill learn the content in time to do the assignments in time and have time left over to study for the 50%-100% final?
Honestly, it really depends what class though. Besides, everybody has a different method of learning, and you shouldn't judge them if sitting in a crowded lecture hall full of smelly sweaty students doesn't match their idea of learning.

  11. How about you get your shit together so u can make it to class on time and listen to the teachers wisdom and finish your homework so u don't have any?
