OMG: It really sucks to be a straight guy in 2015. How has our culture evolved to a point where every decently attractive girl is not only accepted, but encouraged to be a huge skank? This is kind of cool now that I'm in my 20s, but I really don't think I'll ever find a decent girl to settle down with.

  3. Dude, what's fucked up is us as men. If a hot girl doesn't want to sleep with us then she's a prude. If she does then she's a skank. Basically the only time we'll leave them alone is if they're already taken. You can't congratulate mens' sexual exploits while shaming women for the same thing.

We need to drop the concept of skanks/sluts altogether. The only thing that can be looked down upon is infidelity in a relationship where both partners agreed to not see other people.

    5. Obviously its a generalization, we don't all have these opinions, but yea, it is pretty black and white. Bottom line is that the attitude towards sexual activity should be the same for men and women. I don't see why you don't believe I'm a guy, but it would really make no difference if this was coming from a woman so believe what you want.

    11. Googling 'false dichotomy' doesn't explain why it is one.

As I was saying before, my argument is that the attitudes towards sexual exploits (or lack of) of a person should not be affected by gender. Please tell me how a false dichotomy applies here.

  4. 'I really don't think I'll ever find a decent girl to settle down with.' of course you won't. Contrary to what ^4 says, it's not broken down between 'skanks' and 'prudes'. There are numerous sub-species. However, they all have several undesirable traits, typically more related to personality and character than appearance, that render them largely intolerable on a long term basis. Being unpleasant under most circumstances, including to each other, is probably the only unifying theme.

  10. It's interesting to note OP stated his own opinion that today's culture pressures a reasonably attractive woman to be sexually promiscuous based on peer pressure from feminists and other pseudo-intellectual groups rather than if these women feel they are ready or even want sex. While on this board there is nothing but prevarication to this with people taking extreme examples of one subset, ie. men who sleep around copiously, as being the norm, therefore women should sleep around even if they do not wish to, but are forced by this current culture, ie. shaming. Yet, other people think there are just two groups, with one being prudes, the ones to be shamed, and the other being sluts/skanks who we shouldn't judge. What the hell happened to critical thinking in university?

    1. Human beings of both genders have a biological urge to fuck. I don't think you need to cook up an theory involving peer pressure and feminism to explain why people have a lot of sex.

    4. 12 - I think what you're getting into is a bigger issue than what OP is alluding to in their post. Their conclusion that they will never find a decent girl indicates that a decent girl is one who is not coined a skank... I feel that people on this thread have been getting defensive because it is not OP's right to determine which women are quote unquote 'skanks'...

  15. What's not "decent" about having (safe) sex with multiple partners if you're not in a closed relationship with someone? 2. no one wants a slut. fact.

      Delete
    3. It depends on the motives of the individuals involved. If you feel you need to have multiple partners due to psychological issues then perhaps you shouldn't be having sex. This could be considered self-harm or having a self-destructive attitude. If the motives are love, friendship, Etc. there is no problem. Unfortunately you have people like 17.a who need everything black and white in approaching such issues.

      Delete
    4. You don't have multiple partners in a relationship because one person from the relationship will end up heart broken. You might end up having feelings and attraction to one of the person that you might be sleeping with...think of how detrimental it would be to your initial partner's feelings. We are humans after all, a very emotional and sensitive species.

      Delete
    5. 17.c wasn't talking about having multiple partners in a relationship, although some couples are open to this. They were pointing to individuals who sleep with multiple people while not in a relationship.

      Delete
    6. 17.b 'no one wants a slut. fact.' That is 100% true. And as for the double standard tough. I mean, if women don't want their to be a double standard, then they should change THEIR behaviour and reject guys that are sluts (maybe there are some really religious girls out there to whom it matters but from my observation, I've seen women I know to have no prior experience end up with guys that were serial fuckers). Put the onus on yourselves. The fact that guys don't want a slut is never going to change. No one wants to be the sucker who ends up marrying some girl after 30 or 40 guys have had their turn. Blech.

It's like some of those stupid girls who have ended up doing one porn shoot, like that beauty queen from wherever who was stripped of her title after it was discovered she'd done a porno (for the princely sum of $1,500 or something). Who the hell is going to marry the girl who anyone can go online and see getting ****-****ed for a few bucks.

      Delete
  16. (17.a) I see nothing wrong with having safe sex with multiple partners - sorry, 17.c if that is too black and white for you... On that note, my ideas of safe sex, along with consensual sex and mutually enjoyable sex, align with yours in that they should not be a product of self harm.

    ReplyDelete
  17. It is natural to feel some level of insecurity when dating someone who has had more sexual partners than you. However, when you do meet a girl to settle down with, chances are you will love and respect her enough not to care about her past. Many of these "skanks" are also just looking for a nice guy to settle down with.

    4. So if a woman engages in one mutually consenting sexual relation before she meets you, she is a skank? Five relations? Twelve? Thirty? Where is the line drawn...I'm sorry but you do not have the power to define another's self worth or to determine whether or not they are worthy of respect.

      Delete
    5. ^What? It depends on personal calculus. Your comment sounds a lot like a reductio ad absurdum.

      Delete
    6. 19a, that is a fair point. That said, for every woman out there who's slept around to try and compensate for low self esteem there's a confident and self-respecting one who knows what she wants and doesn't give a shit about the haters. Both have had more sex than you or me, but that's where the similarities end.

      Delete
    7. 19.d It's in the eye of the beholder I guess. And it depends on age. I mean, if I was to meet someone who was 30 (when I am round about that age) and they've slept with 6 other guys, that might seem okay (I'll cross that bridge when I come to it). However, given how old I am now, an 18 year old wouldn't be inappropriate and if she'd had six partners I'd do one of two things...a) ditch her or b) if I set my conscience aside, I'd maintain the relationship solely for the purpose of getting laid without any intention of sticking around for the long term.

Presents women with an interesting dilemma. If they have slept with a lot of guys, and their partner asks about it, do they lie or do they tell the truth and what happens happens. I lean toward telling the truth and dealing with the consequences.

Overall though, and contemplating what is realistic (not fair or equitable) I'd advise any women to err strongly on the side of keeping their numbers to an absolute minimum. Sorry, I know that's not equitable, but guys aren't treated equitably either, so there.

      Delete
    8. Sorry 19g, everything after you said 6 might be a high number at 30 (with the assumption that she's been dating, since that's what she's doing with you) just read "I'm a kid". I'd put a bit more experience under my belt before forming a hard opinion on this topic.

If you're not willing to be "equitable" thats just a sign of your own immaturity.

      Delete
    9. 19g I've found the safest bet is to sleep with whoever you want and just be funny, smart, pretty and interesting so that guys will stick around for that even if they initially lose respect or feel insecure about the number of partners you've had. I've had a friend warn me that guys will not think of me as relationship material but I've found that if you can be really fun and and have interesting discussions guys get over the slut thing very easily

    10. @19.f Really? It's a 1:1 ratio? Where are the confident women on this board then? All I see is insecure, whiny, overly sensitive posting on this board by women. It would be nice to have a conversation with one of these women rather than some easy girl who gives it up for a smile and if the guy has abs.

      Delete
    11. 19f here: first off, I doubt many people on here are women. Most replies have been by men. Secondly, the post right above yours. Thirdly, the thing about abs makes it pretty clear you might have some self-confidence stuff going on yourself. It may not be exactly 1:1 if you're in first year and everyone is young and unsure, but it definitely is by the time you get to 25.

      Delete
    12. 19.j here. Nice projection about self-confidence. The ab observation was based on personal experience from women hitting on me since I am physically fit and have a pleasant demeanor. As for the 1:1, beside you trying to now move the posts to attempt salvaging your statement, I can still state that it's bullshit. Your statement doesn't change with age, some attitudes towards sex do. Older women tell me their numbers and then admit they were a slut being young and stupid, but now since they know what they want they stick to a keeper. There are very, very few that will still sleep around because they're strong and confident. That's simply a delusional crap.

      Delete
    13. @19j: Why is it automatically a projection? Also, I'm 25 so that's why I acknowledged that I may know more about that age than yours.

Honestly, from my own experience its better than 1:1 actually, maybe its just the people I hang out with (3 girlfriends and many friends with numbers above mine and all confident and awesome human beings). Have you talked to these people? Or are you just assuming you know their motivations.
