OMG: Every 10th post on OMG is about how much this school sucks so much more than every other (#20702). Is it the case that:

A. The grass seems greener on the side?

B. Regardless of where you go, everything sucks because you suck?
(I don't know about you but I'm having a blast here)

or

C. Somehow you weighted all your options between schools, and UW tricked you into thinking it was better than it was and in fact this school actually does suck. Which I find hard to believe.

  1. People are just butthurt they don't go to our university, and have to experience our greatness vicariously through shit posting.

  2. Option D: UW was part of a joint degree. After getting through all the back-patting/self-proclamations of creativity/ingenuity/innovation the university plays itself as I find it just to be meh in standing.

  4. I just hate the school because our undergraduate student population has only marginal impact on the way the school is run, when our tuition fees are a substantial portion of the school's revenue. Our school definitely gives preferential treatment to grads and faculty - it is made clear by a lot of the policies at our school.

Did you know that the McMaster student union was able to fight their university and make undergrad TA wages a minimum $21 an hour? At Laurentian, they have an exam scheduling system where students can pay a small fee to move an exam to a different time if they feel it is too close to others. What wins/unique perks has the Waterloo undergrad student body had?

    2. I agree and I don't
that 5% voter turnout? doesn't say much for our desire to see an impact

  5. UW is corporation, you are their employees... except you don't get paid. You pay them. If you don't like it, open your own University.

    1. What a nasty attitude and idiotic comment. You know damn well we can't just go and "open our own university." We have the right to try and change the environment and policies of the university to suit our interests BECAUSE we pay them, not in spite of the fact. Also we are not employees, we are customers.

    2. UW will go the way of RIM if they continue the track they're on.
