Kendrick honest to goodness fucking sucks, and I love rap. Just another black guy talking about his dick and his guns. What the fuck is wrong with music these days, why the fuck does anyone listen to this shit?
Not as good as GKMC, but that was hard to top. It's different, and props to him for taking a risk. Don't get me wrong, it's still quality, but only Kendrick stans will say it lives up to the hype.
I enjoyed it but I can see why others might not have. It had a lot of cool neo-soul-ish vibes and reminded me of Aquemini by Outkast. Maybe not as many songs that are fun to rap along to but overall I thought it was still well crafted.
Also poster #2: I honestly don't understand what Kendrick album you listened to to get that idea.
I couldn't find any song that didn't have the word "nigga" multiple time. Like we get it, you're a fucking nigger, doesn't he have anything else to rap about?
How can you honestly say that he is any different than all the other black rappers? The only good thing about his music is the beats, made by someone else and paid for by him. Read the lyrics, still the same generic garbage as the rest of them.

Now tell me he's just rapping shallowly about being black
I don't care how many caterpillar stories are tacked on to the album. It doesn't make the line
"Fuck you, motherfucker, you a ho-ass nigga I don't know why you trying to go big, nigga you ain't shit Walking around like you God's gift to Earth, nigga you ain't shit"
Become some sort of lyrical genius, though he commenter you hold in such high regard seems to think so.
A) A lot of black people use the word nigga casually in conversation much like someone might use 'dude' or 'homie' or 'bud'. It's not about telling you/us how black he is.
B) in 5c you quoted some lines that aren't even rapped. That track is not even a proper song, it's a skit/interlude. And it's a woman speaking those lines (in character as a girlfriend/ex of Kendrick who is bagging on him). That comment made me realize that you either haven't actually listened to the album and are just pulling stuff off of RapGenius, or you're trolling. Good one :D
5.c: You just pulled one line (out of context) from an entire album. And as mentioned below, it's from a skit. Are you serious? Besides, if you can't look past some slang/profantiy to look at the bigger picture, perhaps critiquing art isn't for you.
5c is probably just some fucking paki guy who is to angry that he can't say nigga in public, I fucking hate you all you brown stinky motherfuckers sand NIGGAS!
5c: you're not allowing yourself to see the power and meaning that is infused in these lyrics. Kendrick even addresses that directly - he later in the album attempts to destroy the negativity and poverty associated with nigga/nigger by relating it to the term Negus, a Ethiopian term for kings. tl;dr Kendrick is a genius and you're being a close-minded elitist
5f: You're a fucking racist idiot. A lot of people from many different backgrounds don't appreciate rap and that's cool - but hating an entire race is incredibly fucked up.
It's pretty bad tbh. Kendrick can suck it

ReplyDeleteYou obviously haven't listened to the new album. Or if you have, you totally missed the themes he was trying to convey
DeleteYou're a dumb fuck.

DeleteMotherfucker if you did, then Killer Mike'd be platinum."

If you go in expecting GKMC you're gonna have a bad time. It's a pretty dope album though.
ReplyDeleteThis. No bangers really, but a well-crafted album.
DeleteLol I don't blame OP, 2 and 5a, I can bet my ass y'all three are white. White folk just can't relate to his message smh
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful album IMO. It will go down as a classic, a defining moment in Kendrick's career. The caterpillar becomes the butterfly.
