#20614

OMG: Might just be me but it feels like this site has gone south since I first started using it a few years back.

MOD's NOTE: We're open to feedback.

  1. From what I've read and somewhat tried:
Search doesn't work so well. Misses a lot.
Anti-robot measures have at times seemed more time-consuming for certain comment topics
Up-rating was broken for an OMG critical of a controversial UW department

    1. Yes I just got the picture-matching anti-robot treatment.
MODs, help me understand why. I used the phrase "unresolved issue" in my post. Is that it? Am getting concerned this is a form of trying to shift what posts go through by making it more difficult for some views or topics.

  2. MODs, you're screwing up the omguw post #'s. The midterm calculator omg# is 20613 but in the recent posts section on the main page, recent posts for the same omguw had #20693. Try posting to this thread to test this yourself.

This never used to happen. Did you hire a volunteer or someone a few months ago who may be fucking stuff up? Agreed gone south.

  3. It has gone south. Frankly, it's the quality of the posts though, not only the site itself. OMGUW used to list humorous or outrageous things that happened within the University - the site has turned massively political over the past couple of years. There are far too many topics revolving around feminism, mental illness, elections, racism, religion, and people eating things in DP. The MODs can't do much to fix it until we start posting things that are more to the taste of 2009-2012 OMGUW.
