OMG: What a terrible self-promotion campaign Feds. While I agree you need to let people know what you really do around here (which some of the examples on your posters are pretty terrible for that), your overall campaign slogan sounds passive aggressive and overall comes across as defensive.

If this is what your Feds marketing comes up with, thank god they offer 1700 free hours... Anyone who pays for this kind of hodgepodge campaign is foolish.

Despite these posters, there's so much you should be doing for us that you don't. Way to waste more money.

    1. Spending money on students, advocating for them rather than university interests, finding better ways of engaging the student population, remembering first that they're supposed to be a student organization first and not a business.

    1. I know you do, Maaz, but don't you think it is time you moved on, rather than continuing to abuse the gravy train?

    2. haaaaa. I actually laughed at this one. Maaz does need to move on, it's pretty weird that all three exec wanted to keep doing this sort of stupid shit with Feds for another year instead of actually moving on in their careers.

    3. 5b, they get paid 50k a year to do it, while basically living a student's life. Not a bad opportunity to save - I'd do it.

  6. I am so sick of hearing people bitch about Feds "What do they do for me?" "I have no idea what they do." Educate yourself. Everyone is constantly on their ass for not shoving what they do down everyone's throat, well here it is, in great big letters, exactly what Feds does, because the students here at Waterloo have clearly proven they are basically incapable of doing even a small amount of research.

  8. I'm going to hijack this thread for a public message. I submitted a post, but not sure if it will get out in time for St. Patrick's Day and I don't want students being taken advantage of or mislead. Today I received an email from an undergrads mailing list signed by the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies in regards to St. Patrick's Day. In the email it said that possession of alcohol in most places on campus violates Provincial legislature. This is not true, they may have meant to say consumption, but possession is completely fine if it is closed and you are at least 19. University Policy 21 does not mention the restriction of possession of alcohol on University property, only the serving of alcohol.

    See section 31:
    Subsection 2:
    (2) No person shall have or consume liquor in any place other than,

    (a) a residence;

    (b) premises in respect of which a licence or permit is issued; or

    (c) a private place as defined in the regulations. R.S.O. 1990, c. L.19, s. 31 (2).

    And subsection 3:
    (3) Subsection (2) does not apply to the possession of liquor that is in a closed container. R.S.O. 1990, c. L.19, s. 31 (3).
