OMG: How many people don't know that the sensor at the back door of GRT buses don't work if you wave with your gloves on? I've seen so many people waving like crazy and yelling for the back door....

  2. I wear gloves all the time, it works for me.

  3. The green light has to be on for it to work! If it's not on, it means that the driver didn't allow the back door to even open and that's when people yell back door.

  4. If you just place your hand on the green circle and leave it there for a few seconds (at most) the door will open. I see so many people waving their hands all over the place then yelling at the driver when he's already done his part, and the green light is on.

  5. horizontal karate chop works every time.

of course it works with gloves on though, lmao. what kind of terrible engineer would design otherwise? what kind of canadian-based transit company would buy a bus whose back doors wouldn't open 20% of the year for most riders? come on...

  9. Pretty sure OP means the doors that require you to touch to open, with the yellow stripe. Those don't work with gloves on... but this post makes no sense

  10. OP, please explain why it won't work with gloves?

  13. I wear black gloves and they almost never trigger the sensor. It works by aiming an infared signal from the top of the doors to the floor. If something interrupts the signal the sensor picks up the reflection and it triggers the door opening. If your gloves are dark enough, they'll just absorb the signal and not reflect anything back.

For best results, I take off my glove and put my hand over the "touch here" sticker on the door when the green light turns on, and hold it there until the door opens, 2 or 3 seconds tops.

    2. Fuck the infrared sensors. GRT should've just use the push bars like the back doors on the TTC buses. Tactile feedback every single time. Shits cash
