OMG: Target is going bankrupt, not that my heart particularly bleeds for them

  1. For some reason I feel really smug about them having bombed in Canada. I have no idea why because I never went to one and really bear no ill-will toward them.

  2. Guy who worked for Target Canada since day 1 here: I'm not surprised one bit. RIP

  3. I've never been to a Target in the States, so my entire experience was Canadian. The prices seemed a bit higher than those of Walmart, but it was definitely a nicer atmosphere, and definitely better quality and organisation than Zellers. Had the business not tried to force 'Murica down our throats, it probably would've made it.

    2. Actually the reason they failed is probably because they didn't shove America down our throats.... Turns out Canadians prefer cheap food and fun products more than they like the name of the store.

  4. I'm still miffed about them taking away my zellers restaurant.

  5. I liked Target. Their items were generally of higher quality than Wal Mart, especially their collabo products with brands like Toms and their home decor products. There is no question that their stores were cleaner, more spacious than Walmart. Their clientele was also not as sketch as Walmart's.
