OMG: If we can get the money from somewhere, I would really appreciate it if uWaterloo could build a tunnel or something like that connecting the SLC to another building so we don't have to freeze.
The walk from SLC to MC is not that far (and from MC you can take a combination of tunnels/overpasses to get to most buildings besides the Arts faculty buildings).
You can do MC>DC>EIT>Physics>RCH>DWE *quickly run from dwe to sch* >SCH>AL or where ever at that point you can get to AL, HH, ML PAS and the Environment buildings.
Technically yes, its not connected but its literally seconds so its not a big deal.
I did this to get to PAS from the SLC once in a torrential downpour. It took a hella long time but I was basically dry so it was worth it.
I heard from my upper year friends that have now graduated that there used to be one. A girl got raped and died in the tunnel so they blocked it off and never reopened it
Wrong. That's a lie that keeps spreading for some reason. Those tunnels are service tunnels and were NEVER intended for student use. Some students figured out how to get into them and started using them, which was a liability for the University, so they installed new locks, put in motion detectors and welded some entrances shut.

Would cover main campus and some residences in the main dome, the rest of campus buildings would either be their own dome, or a partial dome attached to another. Elevated walkways would connect all the domes.
This would reduce energy costs for heating/cooling. The dome itself would not be heated/cooled, but using vents and convection currents, it could be kept cool during the summer, and the building/sun heat would be trapped in the winter.
The walk from MC to SLC couldn't harm you if you were naked and you log rolled all the way there. Spending a whole lot of money to prevent you from getting a breath of fresh air is not beneficial.
People should huddle up and travel in packs, rotating in and out like penguins. Also, this would give me an excuse to be in proximity to other human beings.
Just dress properly.. I was fine.

Next you'll be asking for every building to connected to every other building on campus. The walk is not as bad as you think it is.
ReplyDeleteWe're so close though (aside from optometry and CIF).
DeleteYou're in Canada, it gets cold. If you don't like it you can go to FSU.

It's connected to PAC.
ReplyDeleteBetter Idea:

Also, no snow, ice, rain, or more importantly, geese to worry about
DeleteThe University spending money on something that benefits students? Not going to happen.
