OMG: A girl posted on here that she was assaulted in her dorm at the end of last year. I don't know who she is, but I thought I would pass this http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2014/11/28/sexual_assault_victim_awarded_15_million.html along and encourage her to report what happened to her. People care and want to help you.

  1. I bet this guy will never touch alcohol again. That or kill himself.

  2. “I know I’m never going to collect $1.5 million … and I don’t really care about that, but having that amount legitimizes (what I went through),” she said.

    Ummm... ok.

  3. um, hi. that was me, I think, from the big thread about rape victims right? I really am honoured that my story has stuck with you since that thread, and I really appreciate this link. I may in the future reconsider my decision not to press charges, but for now I'm sticking with it. again, I'm honoured and so thankful for this link- it gives me hope for people like me. you have all my gratitude. thank you for your support.

    1. And you will keep our support. Women here continue to be targeted for unwanted attention, harassment, sexual assault, and risk being targeted again if they come forward. That's got to change.

    2. What gets me too is the anger and backlash against women who report against staff here. And the lack of support for them. The vanishingly small minority who do and get put as an example of the futility and repercussions of doing so. Small wonder we feel UW's soft on violence against women on campus and women's safety.

    3. This is a key weekend to remind myself to confront campus safety concerns facing female students and staff. The date of your post - December 6.
Too much not fixed. Too easy turning away.

    4. We care about you and all women on campus who have been or are at risk of being sexually assaulted and intimidated into silence. How to stop this? Look around.
