OMG: Has anyone seen a beaver around campus lately? I haven't seen him in a couple of years :( he used to hang around my window when I lived in V1.

  2. Aren't those groundhogs?

  3. I thought those were groundhogs or something similar too.

  4. Groundhogs are found here in the spring a lot, but I've never encountered a beaver anywhere near campus.

  5. Are you sure it's not a muskrat? I've seen plenty of those (or the same few a bunch of times) on campus but never a beaver or a groundhog. If it swims and has a long, vertically flattened, rat-like tail, what you're looking at is a muskrat.

    1. Under the portable by E2 there is definitely a groundhog that lives under there. I had a close up picture of it and it's 100% a groundhog.

    2. Fair enough, I have no reason to doubt you. I just think it's easier to confuse a beaver with a muskrat rather than a groundhog.

  9. They're groundhogs or muskrats you fucking morons.

No wonder the world is going to the shitter when people who claim to be smart can't even identify common animals in their own country.

  10. The University of Waterloo actually had beavers on campus originally but because they were damming up the water systems on campus (ie. Westmount and Columbia) the university "moved" them. And when I mean move I mean cull because you can't move beavers somewhere else cause essentially it's moving the problem elsewhere. Yes I am an evironment student, and yes I have this information on good authority.
