    1. It means that school starts on the Thursday after Labour Day instead of the Tuesday.

    2. 1a, you mean instead of the Monday. That is to say, we start class 4 days earlier, not 2 days later.

Class currently starts one week after labour day. Now it will start 3 days after labour day.

    1. Yeah because Feds is comparable to the USSR in the 1940's and 50's.

Were you dropped on your head as a baby or something?

    2. Yup, Feds is basically the USSR, and the University is pretty much Nazi Germany. They're really the same in every way that matters.

And with those sentences, I have maxed out my sarcasm quota for the week.

    1. FUCK them, and soon, they will say the same. do you have any idea how much extra time between a semester can mean?

    2. Wow, rude. I had the opportunity to participate in O-Week and I don't think it's right for upper years to take that experience away from first years. Really selfish, dude.

    3. 4b, nah fuck orientation because it is a total waste of money

    4. Everyone knows frosh week isn't actually about the frosh. Maybe now that the leaders have less time to dick around, they'll focus on quality programming for the time they do have.

  5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the referendum is just a 'suggestion' but the actual board or whatever makes the final decision.

    1. Correct, it is the University Senate that makes the actual decision. While this referendum gives them the u/g student opinion, they still need to consider grad students, staff, and faculty opinions as well.

  6. So we start class earlier to get two extra days off during the term. Two days doesn't sound like a week. This referendum should have been called "two extra days off"

    1. This time, students collectively voted against fun. Can't blame faculty or staff this time.

    2. Two days off in the fall is a hell of a lot more fun for me as an upper year than orientation week which most frosh don't even enjoy.
