I'm not an East Coaster, but can't you get these things from Pizza Pizza or one of those large pizza companies? It may not be quite the same as you get at home, but it's still baked dough, cheese, and garlic which is pretty hard to fuck up. However, if you want some donair sauce to go with that around here you're probably SOL.
A whole bunch of the pizza places in town have them, though they're not as popular as in the Maritimes. If you're from a small town like I am, you probably won't even notice the difference.
You can get Donair Pizza at Twin City Pizza now, I'm hesitant to try it, but it's better than nothing. As far as garlic fingers go, they're still unaware of their existence out here
I've never found any good ones. gotta wait it out til christmas bra

ReplyDeleteWhat about oat cakes? Why does no one remember the oat cakes?!
ReplyDeleteI was so shocked in first year going to Tims and finding out they don't carry oat cakes outside of the East Coast... I haven't had one in years...
DeleteI know Pizza Delight has them. Closest joint would be in Fergus/Centre Wellington, however.
ReplyDeleteI know at one point dominoes had them. They weren't all that great though.
ReplyDeleteThe closest I've seen here is that some pizza places have "cheesy bread".

ReplyDeleteI tried it. Pretty good. They also have bad ass garlic cheese bread there.
