OMG: Last year during elections, Burt and Hamade's cronies went around in the libraries, shoving laptops in unsuspecting students' faces and forcing them to vote [for their team]. And now people wonder why this exec is muzzling council, closing the board, etc. etc. Yeah, tell me something I didn't know.
Somebody better get that shit sorted out before next elections. Oh, wait...
a. It was last Board to close the meetings, this Board just hasn't reversed that decision.
ReplyDeleteb. Pretty sure it was Nova that had all the crapton of allegations against them. http://www.feds.ca/elections/allegations/
c. "shoving laptops in unsuspecting students' faces and forcing them to vote" is a huge violation. I don't believe this actually happened, since if either Green or Spark knew of it, they would put a stop to it immediately since it is such a terrible offense. Also, if Nova heard of this happening, they would surely have alleged it--and succeeded.
This smells of just pure bullshit aimed to get people to hate on the current exec.
I would pay less attention to the number of allegations and more attention to the content of those allegations. Think about it, the opposing teams wanted Nova to be disqualified so they likely looked for any little thing they could say against them. Says more about team Spark and their campaign manager than it does about Nova.
Delete1a, this board had a debate on the decision of the last board to close proceedings, and determined to uphold it. It's not like they were simply passive about being opaque.
DeleteI don't know where you're getting your info from 1b, but that is false. Board has not had any discussion beyond drafting a neutral statement.
Delete1c they discussed the decision in their first meeting of the year, in May, and chose not to act. It's in the minutes.
DeleteOh wait.... what? What is it?!? WHAT DO WE NEED TO WAIT FOR?!?!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteIf half the people here who complained about Feds actually showed up to the general meeting or attended the odd council meeting, we might have real democracy on campus.
ReplyDeleteIf half of Feds key decision talks weren't behind closed doors we might have real democracy and not just its purported appearance. Why go to meetings we all know are just window dressing?
DeleteThey didn't even run on the same team, and Green lost by a mile. I don't get the point of this.
ReplyDeleteFind something better to do with your life, Troll. Seriously. This is really getting old now.. Get on with it.. find a different cause to go after. Just because you lost the board meeting vote.. seriously.. go away.
ReplyDeleteHey... person here who's often guilty of submitting a handful of anti-Feds posts on this site, especially some recent ones. I didn't write this, or #20006, so bugger off. This one is someone else - I'm not the only one with this opinion.
DeleteThis OP is so pathetic its not even funny. Why don't you go do something productive with your life? Take up a new sport or something? Or fap?
ReplyDelete+1 for fapping
Delete6, why don't you do the same, instead of commenting anonymously on the internet?
