OMG: My roommate keeps on touching me inappropriately (ass grabbing, pinching, shoulder rubs) , even after I expressed my dismay. What do I do?

    1. I was also wondering that, but it really shouldn't matter. Whatever the gender of both people involved, it's not ok.

    2. Agreed1.a, but the gender of those concerned does affect how it can/should be dealt with

  2. Record all instances, as well as everything you say to them and the dates of you saying it. tell them in writing (ie text/email) and then contact your landlord

    1. By landlord, you mean police, right?

  3. Tell her/him to stop. If he/she does not stop then I would threaten to report him/her. If he/she still doesn't stop then I would follow through on my warning. It's sexual harassment regardless of the gender and it should never be tolerated.

If you're too scared to report this person, then maybe you should have one of your friends say something or tell your landlord. These are milder options.

  4. You should go to the police. I can tell you right now that without some sort of hard evidence, nothing will happen to him from a legal standpoint, but if they drop by your house and question him it might be enough to scare him straight. I understand that this is a pretty tricky situation but you have every right to feel safe in your own home.

  5. Gender of either doesn't matter. It's sexual assault. Report it to the police, and in the meantime start looking for someone else to live with. You're not safe there.

  6. Good advice everyone. I have hope for our campus community. The roommate should leave. Adding to what 2 said, write down how your roommate responds too. Reprisals against complaints like this are against the law too.

  7. Put laxatives in their food.
