It's annoying especially considering the academic advisors were away during course enrolment, so my courses couldn't even be sorted out until early-mid August...
This doesn't matter. Once you're fees arranged, you're good, no matter how much you add or remove courses. You might have to pay them more, or wait for them to refund you, but you will never stop being Fees Arranged.
From what I've heard, they don't wait until mid-September.
It's simple: if you haven't paid your fees in full by a particular date, the University can't get funding from the provincial government for your enrolment (they get an amount roughly equal to the value of your tuition, for each student that enrols). That's why they're so strict about the fees arranged deadline - if you don't pay on time, it costs them a lot of money.
A lot of other schools have to pay for the 8 month school year all at once, or else pay interest charges right away..so I consider us pretty lucky in that regard that we only pay on a term-by-term basis
UW is all about the money. Not one fuck is given about the student.
ReplyDeleteYou really think UW is the only one who cares about money? Stfu
DeleteYes. I also think so.
DeleteYea... so, its an institution (for profit). Gives you a career for a price. Just shut up and pay the dues... jeez
Delete^Technically not a for-profit institution. But yes, as long as we're being offered a fair return-on-investment for what we pay, it's fine.
DeleteThe big question (the one we must never stop asking) is: are we?
School I go to I had to be fees arranged in early july...

let OP feel entitled...
DeleteDoes anyone know if the access to learn content is affected if you pay after the due date but before classes start?

ReplyDeleteIf it is annoying, then simply pay before August 25th...They e-mailed us a while back, it's not that tough of a deadline
ReplyDeleteOP, most other schools have you pay for the entire year (i.e. 8 months) all at once. Just be glad that's not you.
