International student here. The reason why I came here was because I come from a place with really limited opportunities in terms of education. Canada is well known to be one of the friendliest places in the world in terms of culture and immigration. Waterloo has a co-op program, is one of the best regarded schools in the country, and has the most affordable environment for an international student. Did I mention co-op already, that will help me find a job and settle down here?
This is a pretty common reason you hear from many international students. Apparently OP hasn't given this any serious thought, nor has he/she bothered to talk to any of the (many) international students on this campus.
I'm an international student from the US. One of the reasons I came to Waterloo was because the tuition is cheaper than the majority of universities in the states.
^ Universities are all brand names (unless you have fucking independently assessed the quality of education at every single institution somehow and have a reasonable basis to compare them)...you're just jealous the aforementioned universities have better brand names than UW.
Guess it's easier to clump all universities, private and public, into one cluster than to actually look at the value each holds in regards to various categories such as scholarships, networking, academic record, Etc. into some vague label as brand names. That is probably why you're in UW as it's not by choice.
baw baw my school sucks
ReplyDeletego cry more
