OMG: tbh, the best decision i ever made was getting off of Facebook. I know some people say its hard to do, but I've been off for 8 months now, and I'm not even tempted or missing it. I feel free from not seeing the drama, the people who i don't like (but can't get the courage to delete). Anyone else try this before?
I use the "hide posts from" option, but yeah... deleting your account works too.
ReplyDeletePersonally I find I'm generally happier and feel better about things without facebook. Deactivating it is the hardest part, honestly. Within maybe a day or 2 I had no desire to go back on, and now I tend to forget it even exists.
ReplyDeleteI deactivated mine 3 months ago. I agree- best decision. I feel like I have more time to myself and I'm honestly happier living my life rather than looking at what other people are posting about theirs.
ReplyDeleteIf you really felt free you wouldn't make this post :p
ReplyDeleteNot true at all.
DeleteI deleted my FB, Twitter and Blogger accounts a few days ago and to be honest, I feel so much better without them. No drama, no bullshit and no stupid shit.
ReplyDeleteIf you're getting into drama on three different social media sites, I feel like the problem may be less with the websites and more with you...
Delete^Actually, it was from other people, tbh. Yes, drama can spread and it can be started by yourself but that's why you have the power to change that. I did so by cutting ties with those who made things miserable and killed those accounts. I still feel a lot better about it than before!
DeleteI've had mine deleted since 2009 -- best decisions EVER. So liberating, good on you, OP :)
ReplyDeleteGood for you I guess. I personally love Facebook. Privacy? not a big worry
ReplyDeleteSame, I only use messenger for friends and use the newsfeed for actual news (I like news organizations and hide most people)
Deletetbh, the best decision i ever made was getting on of Facebook. I know some people say its hard to do, but I've been on for 8 months now, and I never knew what I was missing.
ReplyDeleteLol "getting on of Facebook".
DeleteFacebook is extremely useful for communicating with people and there's nothing wrong with sharing photos of cool times. The problem is when you go on Facebook when you are BORED. and you have nothing to do. and you are looking at other people doing things. and you just go on an endless loop. I've limited myself to just mobile facebook the last 2 months, purely for communication, and i might just keep it that way.
ReplyDeletesame, it is great for communicating with friends/family around the world.
DeleteAs someone with friends and family in multiple countries, Facebook is the easiest and cheapest way to stay in touch. I wouldn't delete my account for that reason alone. I only have my closest friends on there and use it to share photos, message for free (international texting gets expensive), and keep updated on everyone back home. I never understood why so many people found Facebook news feeds annoying - why would you add "friends" who you didn't want to hear from?!
ReplyDeleteLol I agree completely. I've never had the problem of seeing "drama" on my newsfeed and if I ever do see it, I'd probably delete the person. Facebook is so useful to contact international friends so as long as it isn't used excessively out of boredom, it's great to keep
DeleteMy only use for facebook is for the messages and the various groups I'm in. I don't post photos, heck I don't even have a profile pic. I never post anything my or peoples walls, never post photos. My account is the most bland one out there.
ReplyDeleteI don't even use Facebook, but might join in the future.
ReplyDeletefb is great for communicating despite all the bad shit
ReplyDeleteno one was forcing you to get into drama
i doubt fb was the cause
OP said they were tired of seeing the drama, not participating in it.
Deletehow many of the above posters are women? (All this talk about drama).
ReplyDeleteNever had drama using fB. Like a lot of comments above, I just use FB for talking to people and posting cool things, articles etc
The only drama I ever had was some cunt making fun of the fact that me and my gf broke up.
DeleteFucking cunt.
lol. have some fun. dude
