OMG: I want Imprint to do some more off-campus stories like The Cord does. Like the piece they did on Front Row was actually good enough that it was referenced by the main local news here. Maybe they can venture out and photograph all the homeless people in Waterloo, or do a piece on construction. Heck, turn into Vine and see if all the janitors have legal Canadian papers and start shit.

  1. Come into the office and talk to us about your ideas! We'd love to hear them, really.

  2. Do you mean the Cord Community? They are separate from The Cord which is the Laurier campus paper. Imprint is a campus newspaper and therefore is intended to cover campus issues more than general community things.

  4. NO!, Maybe not joking, there are a lot of homeless in Waterloo and of course down in Kitchener and sadly it is getting much worse and there aren't the many shelters for them like in Toronto and these people, a lot of them laid off from their jobs can't just up and go to UW and get high end in demand degrees. Campus newspapers are the last bastion of real journalism now that the mainstream media have gone through so many rounds of layoffs. Keep up the good work.

Of course they have legal Canadian working papers, at least half of them are Canadian. :/

    1. Ehhhh that may not be entirely true. UW has been hiring out to contractors (third party companies) for various postings. I know a few of these companies that don't have the proper papers for their employees.
