OMG: Venting...
Please tell me I'm not the only grammar freak out there. Trolls, I don't care what you say. I have a friend who pisses me off so much when they use the wrong form of a certain word. In this case, it's you're/your and then/than. I want to correct them so badly, but I don't want them to feel stupid, even though I have corrected their grammar before. Yet, they still revert back to their old self. OH, they also mix up to and too, as well as they're, their and there. They're not the greatest learner out there. Anyone else feel the same way? Trust me I try not to let it bug me, because the majority of my friends use proper spelling and grammar, but with this person, it gets under my skin. I also know that the words I listed above are the ones that are commonly misused, but... MAN. I wish their phone had autocorrect.
*Sigh* This is both a blessing and a curse. -_-
Thank you for listening. And if you didn't, I'm glad I didn't have to waste your time with something petty as grammar. It might seem insignificant to you, but with proper grammar and spelling you'll go far in a job that requires it.

ReplyDeleteWhat are you tracking about? My foam has autocorrect!
ReplyDeleteYou're not the only person who feels this way.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like me before I got treatment for my OCD...
ReplyDeleteThe fuck? Sound like me when I kept putting "fap" on my phone and it kept changing it to "fab." Fucking recipient thought I was gay.

ReplyDeleteI feel that for casual conversation, grammar is not all that important as long as your message is not compromised, and sometimes I get annoyed by overly pedantic grammar people. Of course, writing reports/papers is different.
