OMG : I don't see why non-Asians get bad rap for not choosing Waterloo because of its high Asian population, when some asian parents themselves encourage their children to attend it so that they only get to socialize with other Asians.

    2. ^Actually it probably does happen. People weigh social life and culture when picking a school and the prevalence of Asians here does affect the perception.

I'm not saying it's right or good but it probably happens.

    3. Even if it does happen, who gives two fucks? Asian, non-Asian. Awesome social life, dull social life. Get your motherfucking degree and start your life. We're all human anyways and will be dead in 50-60 years. Who cares......look at the shit going on in Iraq and other parts of the world right now and broaden your minds.

  2. I don't see how the high Asian population has anything to do with non-Asians getting bad rap for not choosing Waterloo. Asian parents have other reasons besides socializing with other Asians (such as program reputation, how to save on costs, etc) and this is coming from an Asian.

  3. Nobody gets a bad rap for not choosing Waterloo because of this. I don't know how you came to that conclusions.

A lot of my friends didn't consider Waterloo at all because of the Asians. I completely understand it.

  5. I'm Asian, and if I knew how fobby/Asian this school actually was beforehand, I would have opted for Queens or Western.

  7. Because the reasoning is so different. As a foreigner coming to a new country where English isn't your first language, it gets really, really, really lonely. People who come from European countries also experience this. Even people form Europe have trouble with this and need to find people from their country who speak their language so they are not completely alone.

What is your reason for not choosing waterloo because of the Asians? There is still a majority white population here. I have never had trouble making friends or felt lonely because of all the Asians. They are not even the same situation.
