When I'm lifting weights, my muscles are struggling to lift the weight. The first and only thing on my mind is to push my body. I'm there to go as hard as I can and give it my all. Therefore people probably aren't smiling and probably don't even realize that.
I fucking hate when people tell people to smile. Just cause im not smiling doesnt mean im upset. You know a lot of times people smile to hide their true emotions anyways, just because you are smiling doesnt make you happy.
OP, I wish I would too, but while working out, it's difficult. It's bad enough keeping count of your reps and focusing on maintaining good form as well as pushing with all your strength...smiling while doing all that isn't something that even enters my mind. I actually make the weirdest expressions while lifting, which I don't realize I made until after the set is over.
I like to think I'm really friendly though! So come talk to me, I'll smile then. :D

ReplyDeleteMost people at the gym who seriously go there to work out are often in the zone.
ReplyDeleteare you intimidated?
ReplyDeleteventuring to the weights area is a bit intimidating...
ReplyDeletedon't be lol
Deletemost people at the gym are actually really friendly
when i was bulking, people there used to want to chat and stuff
just gotta catch them at the right time
It's because some people hate the gym (myself included). I don't want to workout...I have to workout. Just leave me alone and let me do my workout.

ReplyDeleteExactly, and sometimes it's just that people's "default expression" is on the frowny side of neutral
