OMG: Officially graduated. Feeling pretty shitty for wasting tonnes of money and time on substandard education, overrated coop program and abysmal social life that this shithole had to offer. Peace out UW.

  1. I'm pretty embarrassed that we have our convocation in our shitty gym while most universities have theirs in dedicated convocation halls, or conference centres.

    1. +1 Parents complained about the shitty bleacher seats as well. This has to change for the better.

  2. the university's responsible for your education, that's true, but you're responsible for your own education too man

nothing's stopping you from downloading a shit ton of textbooks and reading deeply into stuff not taught in class

    1. if the bulk of your learning is done via self-learning why go to university at all then?

    2. @3a

university provides a standardized education and gives you exposure to things you might never have happened upon by yourself

undergrad was never meant to make you the best in your area

    3. ^ for what university charges now and what they promise it better make me the best in my area.

  3. And I know a surprisingly high number of people who are unemployed even after doing coops and stuff. In respect, people from other cheaper universities seem to be doing better

  4. Because any failures you have are CLEARLY a result of the university you went to. Not you. I'm sure you've been working as hard as you possibly can! That's why you were one of the 300 interns in silicon valley last co-op term. Oh, wait....

    1. ^ This. Don't know what's worse, the fact that you honestly believe it is the University's fault that you will probably be unemployed, or the fact that you hated it but stuck around for 4+ years and cried about it once you graduated.

    2. Silicon Valley is the epitome of this university or what? Who wants to be a tech geek sucking cock?

    3. Perhaps if this university focused more on educating the students rather than milking them constantly and offering "co-op" to losers who can't find work on their own...

    4. ^ are you even aware of the co-op program, and the fact that it gets ridiculously competitive for any good position in the fields of math/cs/engineering/even afm (big 4)

its not for "losers". The good jobs tend to go to people that have proven themselves somehow

    5. @5c, read into the coop program, and maybe make some friends in the coop program. As 5d mentioned, co-op program doesn't just give you a job, it's really competitive. This term, for instance, there was roughly 300-500+ applicants from our school for some of the SV positions.

    6. Yeah, I'm going to pay UW money to go into co-op so I can compete with other people who paid UW money to go into co-op? Or I can save my money and just apply directly without paying UW. Brilliant!

    7. 5f, go right ahead. Please drop out of co-op and apply for those positions that are only interviewed for at UW. One less bitter dick to compete with.

    8. ^ good luck finding work after graduating when UW isn't there to hold your hand.

    9. ^You mean when I apply to jobs using a resume I learned how to write properly here, go to interviews I'm good at from doing so many while here, and using the networking skills and connections I made while in co-op? Yeah, I'll be alright I think.

    10. ^ you and all the other thousands of university grads out there with no life skills.

    11. ^Ok champ, whatever you need to make yourself feel better.

    12. how does waterloo hold your hand lol? I still remember my first coop, I had ZERO interviews until like the end of the term.

I have however come a long way since then, and am doing quite good for myself. Not to sound like a dick, I did it for myself. This is a university, no one is holding your anything.

    13. 5l again, and getting a job in coop means literally nothing, getting the job in your field is everything, and its can be quite xompetitive. I want to be a quant, so if i get a coop as a baker, i might as well have not done coop at all. So its not that easy.

God I hate people when they are so uninformed, yet act as if they know the ins and out of that subject.

    14. @ 5m. I'm guessing this loser is OP or maybe friends with OP? Either way they are retarded.

Oh and at 5h, don't worry I won't have any trouble finding a job, as I (and I'm sure many others) have secured full time offers through co-op. And for those who haven't, they've at least got ~2 years of work experience on their resume.

    15. @b: If just anyone could make this much money by being a geek and sucking cock...well, there'd be plenty more cock-sucking going around. Heck, demand for geek cock-suckers might even be filled.

@h: I don't know a single person who finished co-op and had any issues finding a job. Even the people who were nowhere near top of their class (or top of anything really) got jobs easily.

    16. lol @ the losers who need UW co-op to supply them jobs.

      Delete
    17. I'm one of the losers that did co-op, my last few co-ops were in SV and I busted my ass to make sure I had a full time offer. Now I'm employed in SV and only make 130k base salary. D: D: D: SAD PANDA #feeling #loser #anhero

    18. ^I've been offered more than double that. No co-op. You think salary is the only measure of success? Go back to Seattle RL.

    19. @5r: What field are you in?

  5. Enjoy failing at life OP

  6. I've been able to get great co-op jobs, and I have a great social life. OP fucked up and is blaming everyone and everything else.

    ReplyDelete
  7. OP is a little bitch. And will fail at life.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Stop being a little bitch and start being accountable for your own life. I imagine Waterloo had very little to do with your shitty social life with a piss poor attitude like that. Get over yourself, if you don't like something than make the change to remove it from your life.

  9. Sorry OP, you just suck. Another University may have served as a crutch in one area of your life or another but in the end you just pissed away your own time and money.

The alternative would have been to piss away that money in your parent's basement working a dead-end job and smoking pot. Consider yourself lucky.

  10. Funny how the people I've known to go through UW have gone on to reasonable and well paying jobs.

Not sure I've met someone who felt it was all a waste other than losers who can't get work.
