That's not really accurate. I went to high school in Kanata and of 300 people in my year, less than 10 were Chinese. Also brown people and Asians aren't that uncommon in Ottawa. There's more Middle Eastern and black people too than at UW, which is the real Chinatown.
There are significantly less Asians in Ottawa than Waterloo. I find Ottawa Asians are in general really whitewashed, they're more likely to speak French than any Asian language.
You do realize there are Asians and brown people all over Canada (though I admit that regions have higher densities of these people). But really, it just sounds like you have never left Waterloo and just lived in a tiny village before that.
lol
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you know about the Ottawa suburbs but if you came down to Kanata (or even Barrhaven), you'd be in New Chinatown.

DeleteI did too..... I'm in Kanata Lakes though. Were you in Bridlewood?

DeleteWe asians don't prefer to immigrate to Ottawa. So we grow up there.
