I would vote, but no one deserves the reimbursement my vote would help them get. Everyone looks horrible in terms of candidates. #boycottprovincialelections
If actually you are that dissatisfied... go to your polling station and when they hand your ballot say "I decline to vote". They put your ballot in a special envelope and it is recorded in the final result. That way your displeasure with all candidates is noted.
If you're just being edgy and saying "boycott the elections" because you're too much of a lazy ass to take the 5 minutes to vote/decline to vote... then I can't help you
please vote. A lack of a vote will put this man in power http://www.thestar.com/news/queenspark/2013/02/12/tim_hudak_wants_student_loans_tied_to_marks.html. Our demographic is ignored, and we have a government for a geriatric population.
Unless you own a multi-million dollar corporation or are living off a trust fund, the Conservatives are going to fuck up your young adult life. They're cutting thousands of jobs in education and nursing, just in time for the baby boomers to become seniors who need more healthcare. But the baby boomers aren't retiring because of shitty pensions and a piss poor economy, so lucky for us, we haven't got any jobs on top of debt from University!
Do not vote Conservative. The government should support people, not businesses.
Right, instead let's just stick our heads in the sand and pretend that Ontario doesn't have 288 billion dollars of debt. I'd usually vote for the Liberals, but this election they seem to be taking their fiscal cues from the NDP, and have no clue how to balance a budget.
13b, all that will do is cause businesses to close up shop here, move away, costing the province more jobs, lowering government revenues, and increasing our debt.
NDP!!!!!!!! I care about my tuition. Hudak does not know what his plan is (everyone knows hes done his math wrong). Wynne wants to spend more on partnerships between the gov n businesses.
Thanks Uncle Sam!
ReplyDeleteI DID TOOOOOOO
ReplyDeleteKitchener-Waterloo, the only place where your vote actually means anything!

ReplyDeleteLow voter turnout means our demographic is ignored

I agree with the comments to your post, 4. Vote and select no one. It's much more effective than boycotting.
Delete4, per-vote subsidy to parties is not a thing anymore.
DeleteI voted, too. GOOOO LIBERTARIANS!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey should merge with the communists, family coalition, and people's party so they don't split the lost-cause vote.
DeleteBoycott.

Delete6a, that article is almost 2 years old, and the party has said they don't support that standpoint anymore.
DeleteI voted, cheers to PC and not having to pay off the debt the liberals would put us in!
ReplyDeleteABC. Anyone but Hudat
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be ABH? I think you mean Anything But Conservative.
DeleteAlso leftists as a group should decide whether to support liberal or NDP, or else we're just splitting our own votes.
+1, I want to support the left but neither the NDP or the Liberal leaders seem very good. Think I'll just go Green
DeleteThe vote split has begun.
DeleteAny student that is getting osap should really consider not voting PC...
ReplyDeleteEven the OPP don't want the PC to get into power. So much for the "law & order" party.
ReplyDeletere-elect ford
ReplyDeletewrong election
DeleteI /love/ how people pick sides, as if the party they root for is actually going to do something good.
ReplyDeleteGet it through your head, they all suck.
Sure, but some suck more than others
DeleteCareful, you'll cut yourself on that edge. Glad that they don't let 13-year-olds vote.
DeleteThis election has shown a radically different approach between the Wynne Liberals and Hudak PCs.

DeleteYou're not going to overcome debt by cutting teaching and nursing jobs. How about increasing taxes on the companies that are damaging the environment?
