OMG:
Currently dropping a lot of weight, while awesome for my health, absolutely sucks for my clothing. Stupid pants won't stay up anymore because of how loose they've gotten, but I don't want to invest in new ones because those will be too big in a bit as well. #fatguyproblems.

    It's called a belt.

The worst part OP is when you try to sit for extended periods. That beautiful, soft cushion that used to exist behind you is now gone leaving two boney parts that hurt like hell.

Work out. You will fill out some of those clothes again, but in a good way.

@1: Belts don't help if you lost more than an inch or two...

Fat person here--my advice is to buy only a couple pieces of clothing articles at a time (like two pairs of jeans) and wear those regularly until you can reach your next weight loss goal.

Also, consider purchasing clothes online because they tend to be cheaper. I know Old Navy isn't a cool place to shop, but you can buy jeans there for a relatively low price and they always have deals going on..

I dropped about 80 pounds last year and had this problem big time. The thing to do is buy cheap clothes that you know won't last for very long until you're done losing weight. Walmart and Old Navy are your friends! I also hit up Value Village every now and then. As long as you're okay with secondhand clothes, it's great.

@1 OP here. Belts don't help because it's the pants are just too big in the leg area too. Plus belts have always felt too restrictive for me.

Value Village for the win. Honestly, there is so much stuff there that is barely worn or looks brand new and its all dirt cheap.

Just wondering how you lost it. Gimme some tips!

@8 I am not OP, but I am also losing weight (currently down 25 pounds). The big thing is calorie restriction. Everyone will say "Oh you should try keto/atkins/south beach/other random fad diet", and people do lose weight on those, but only because they are eating much less than they were before. Try the website/phone app My Fitness Pal for calorie/nutrition counting and the site www.reddit.com/r/loseit for inspiration/encouragement.

Try to slowly become more active. Obviously not everyone has time to go to the gym all the time, try to make time for it at least once a week and then also walk or bike to class instead of bussing. I also have a small set of weights at home and yoga mat (the P90X yoga workout is actually pretty intense, download from pirate bay). If you can't always find time to exercise don't stress, diet is the most important factor in weight loss. Over the summer I was dieting and working out 4 times a week (30 min cardio, 45-1 hour weights), now I don't have that much time to work out and I am still losing weight at the same weight I was over the summer.

A few key things to remember are:

    1) Losing weight is a long term thing. Don't set unrealistic goals for yourself. Most people take at least a year to reach their weight goal.

    2) If you are hungry you are doing it wrong. If you eat large amounts of low cal foods like veggies throughout the day, on top of healthy meals that contain a lot of protein and iron you should not feel hungry. Don't restrict your calories too much either, or you will starve yourself and retain weight (My fitness pal will inform you of a healthy amount of calories depending on your weight/gender).

    3) Allow yourself to cheat once in a while. Every other Friday I eat whatever I want no restrictions.

    4) Dieting is a lot easier with someone else. If you have a roommate that also wants to lose weight buddy up with them. You can keep each other on track.

    ^**correction**
Should be: "Losing weight at the same RATE" not "losing weight at the same weight".
