Most of my friends are from other programs and faculties. Because most people in my program are competitive, clique-y a**holes.

You should volunteer for more non-faculty related events OP. Like Welcome Week or something. That's how you'll meet different people.

I'm the only Earth Sciences student in Engineers without Borders. That proved to me that engineers are quite sociable. In fact I'm one of the only Earth science students on campus.
