Unless he's talking about OP specifically and also taking into account how they used the word 'relies'. Then, it would seem statistically likely because most people probably know the difference between 'realize' and 'relies' and if we assume that knowing how to use the word 'relies' reflects your overall intelligence (which I think seems reasonable in general... at least in the way people normally think of intelligence), then OP is probably stupider than the average person and most of OP's friends are probably smarter than OP.
Anyway, I think if this was intentional, OP is a genius- I've never realized that 'relies' sounds so similar to realize and the joke is just so perfect, especially if you're confused at first and then get a sudden burst of insight. Okay... I guess it's not that funny but it tricks you into believing it's really funny because you think "oooh hahaha I get it now! That's hilarious." You know what I mean?
Am I the only one who thinks the typo was on purpose? I'd rather have a funny friend, than a smart one :)

Yeah, that intelligence deficit was nicely illustrated by your incorrect spelling of "realize"...

^ Yeah, to me, it seems statistically UNlikely.

^ Oh, and the reason why I thought it was statistically UNlikely was because I read it as "when you relies ALL your friends are much smarter than you"
October 13, 2012 at 10:22 PM
^ It was a combination of the terrible grammar and the fact that OP didn't use ALL.

relies isn't even pronounced the same way as realize.
