^ Probably never took a bio course and wouldn't have a clue what grad school in it entails.

I think this does a better job, but despite all of the frustration, doubt, and competition, I love grad school. There's something wonderful about being able to conceptualize your own project, and then contribute new knowledge to the literature. Plus, having ultimate flexibility and control over your own schedule is awesome. I like sleeping in to 10 every day.

I wish I saw this before starting :(

@3: Yeah grad school definitely has some benefits, but I think it would really suck if you do get stuck in a bad project (as the song says :P). I did an internship once which was kind of like a mini grad-school period since I had my own small project and stuff. But mine really sucked bad and I just wouldn't take it any more during the last few weeks LOL. I couldn't have imagined being stuck there for a few years in grad school.

After 7 years as a grad student and 2 as a post doc, I found those videos to be hilarious. Grad school was amazing. Yes you are poor and stressed at times, but there are a tonne of perks and you end up with fantastic opportunities afterwards. The second video describes my experiences totally.... but I wouldn't hesitate to do it all again in a heartbeat.....
