OMG:
Today, outside UWP, I saw a hawk swoop down from god knows where, pick up a squirrel and fly away with it while the squirrel's brother/wife was whimpering while hiding near the wheel of a car. It was disturbing but awesome mother nature

That hawk has been scaring the shit out of me all weekend. Once it looked like it was about to crash into the ground, but it started flying at the last possible second. Secondly, it nearly flew into my window. I nearly shat myself.

I feel like you are trying to project human emotion on the nature a little bit too much. I don't think that they were whimpering so much as they were hiding and I don't think they have family relations as we do.

There has definitely been an increase in the number of hawks this year. I hear them all the time on campus now and I always see at least two (mating pair I'm guessing) walking to/from school, and sometimes even 4 (another mating pair I assume). I love them.

they're nesting on top of DP. Pretty soon they're going to be feeding on all the people falling asleep in the library studying
