The sysies are so cliquey. 2016 spirit's directors are all systems too, so the events are never really advertised outside systems, except as an after thought 1 or 2 days ahead of the event. ugh.
Honestly, you'd be cliquey too if your program hid in its own department and made its own versions of the first-year courses everybody takes. Most of 2nd and 3rd year is tron courses, and the rest is the systems theory and project management stuff everybody else takes. And we're so full of love! C'mere, I think you just need a hug <3
I don't know where all the SYDE hate is coming from, it's not like they're the only engineering program that's cliquey. Pretty much every eng is cliquey, just because they have pretty much every single class with the same ~ <100 people.
Most of the other eng's aren't so goddam cocky about their programs (except Trons, they think they are a big deal). I made the mistake of talking to a syde in my residence last term, 10 minutes later he had told me all the ways that his program was better than mine, and that he will be qualified for every engineering job when he graduates.
I have talked to trons that think that when they leave here they will be able to do the job of any mech, any ece, any soft, and any syde.
I've yet to meet a rude SYDE, but ECE kids are just horrible. Have not met a single person in ECE that isn't an uncontrollable douchebag. They're just so cocky, it's unbelievable.
@14 The ECEs I've met *appear* nice when you first talk to them, but it's generally just to entice you to listen to their story about how their program is so much more difficult than yours and how they're much smarter than you. It's not really that they're outwardly rude, just extremely cocky and always try to one-up you. I mean, I'm sure there are some genuinely kind and interesting people in ECE, but I haven't met one yet.
ECE student here, if anyone wanna talk about this, i will meet you at the gazebo in waterloo park, 12 midnight! And we can settle our differences Mano-a-mano!

Real don't know if I should give this 5 stars or 1... All I know is that they don't need to work.

Everyone seems cocky from my point of view. Everyone tells me how their program's better than mine.

@12: Hard to find, but nice, normal people in ECE do exist. Or maybe they were just nice to my face.

The amount of generalizing in this thread is too damn high.
