I only put in staples in my stapler when I'm going to use it. Thieves are then quite disappointed >:D
Plus I load it with explosives.

If you leave a stapler out on the desk, people are going to assume it's for public use (unless it is one of those small personal staplers). Reason being, nobody usually carries a stapler around.

^ if you're in a public area, lots of people. People take the stapler, and after they're done with it, instead of returning it to the proper place, just leave it lying around.
