OMG:
I like the idea of a new student building! It can include food things, some study space, and some lounge area dedicated to student life! Maybe we can even call it the Student Life Centre?

I think it's a pretty good idea.
To have your opinions count, fill out the survey FedS is having regarding the new student building.

OP here. Already filled out the survey.

Just vote yes on the Goddamn new building already you stuck up assholes.
Admin took fed hall because it was pretty useless as far as student use goes. The new building will be a much needed second SLC closer to the Seagram entrance where most students enter campus from.

^Plus more study space most likely.
Fucking cunts at this school piss me off to the extreme.

@3: Why do you think this new building will be any different from FED hall? It's the exact same scenario.
@4: There is a shit ton of study space at UW. Between SLC, the libraries, space in residence, MC, and various other classrooms in buildings, there is literally always study space. What do you actually want the new building for? There are not space issues on campus, the new building will just make campus more cramped while feds fucks it up and loses it to UW administration again (this is the problem with arts students running feds).

Of our current Feds exec, I'm fairly certain none of them are from Arts. The president at the least is from AHS

@5: You can't tell the difference between a formal event hall and a student centre? Look at Fed Hall and the SLC, how many similarities are there really?
The only way they'll take it is if students don't use it. We have only ourselves to blame if that happens.

If they have a subway that charges the generic franchise prices for a 6-inch sub, and not the generic franchise price of a 12-inch sub for a 6-inch sub like they do in the SLC - i'm all fucking for it.

#5 - Arts students fucking it up? The past President who fucked it up was a Science major. Absolutely blind sighted, faculty-biased judgement. Maybe idiots like yourself should pay more attention to voting, extending your judgement past what faculty someone is from.

People bitch that there is no space to study, then they complain when they think about building a new one. Fuck you all
July 11, 2012 at 12:35 AM
there is SO much study space, i don't even understand how people cant find a place to study.

If they're charging more for food, blame the school. They don't let people from the outside open franchises on campus. If the public could open on campus maybe the pricing would be a bit more competitive.

@6: Adam is from Arts (Kumar and Alex are both from Math).

CTRL-A would like its office back, so that we may actually be able to hold office hours again.
More club space. A space to store CTRL-A's equipment that is open after 10pm (we have events that run late enough that our storage space is locked).
