OMG:
One fucking Asian sits beside me in class and eats beef jerky for 3 hours straight without closing their mouth to chew. I nearly vomited.

why was the "asian" part necessary??
July 10, 2012 at 5:00 PM
^That was to be nearly my exact comment. Seriously OP. What gives?
July 10, 2012 at 5:08 PM
You sure it's beef OP? Probably cat or dog jerky.
July 10, 2012 at 5:19 PM
effin racist. ching chong ting tong
July 10, 2012 at 6:36 PM
Wait for next week OP when they bring in sushi and sticky rice.
July 10, 2012 at 6:39 PM
"Asian" let's us get a better mental picture
July 10, 2012 at 7:20 PM
I agree.. Asian was not really necessary.
It's already implied.
July 10, 2012 at 7:34 PM
I had a fat black woman sit beside me smacking her lips chewing on who knows what for about 10 minutes. I could hear EVERYTHING. If I stuck around long enough I'd probably be able to hear her digest whatever it was.
I find asians to have relatively worse table manners than others.
July 10, 2012 at 8:15 PM
Of course Asian had to be implied... in China it is impolite to NOT slurp your food as slurping food is a sign of how much you like the food or whatever. my roommate has been on coop all over asia and this is the norm - even as a tourist. that's great and all - but we ARENT IN CHINA. normally stuff like this does not bother me, but really, if people from Canada can respect their cultural norms, they should respect ours. and if nothing, at least fucking catch on when everyone is staring at you or giving you looks BECAUSE YOUR MOUTH IS OPEN WHEN EATING FOOD INSIDE IT. agree with you 100% OP.
July 10, 2012 at 8:16 PM
And really is it that rude to say 'can you please close your mouth when you chew, it is distracting me'
honest question, would you be offended if you were asked that?
July 10, 2012 at 9:15 PM
I am asian, and I'm afraid some of the older generations are very slow to catch on to "no open mouth chewing". So, be explicit and firm. Bitchslap when necessary.
July 10, 2012 at 10:21 PM
Honestly, it really depends on how they were raised. I find that international Asians are more rude than the ones that were raised in Westernized countries. Sometimes I feel like people from bigger cities are more rude than people from smaller cities, but that's just my opinion. (: And I'm Asian too, so it's not like I'm being rude against my own kind, haha.
July 11, 2012 at 11:21 AM
Hey OP fuck you, guy's ethnicity has nothing to do with the story and you seem like a fucking baby for not saying 'please chew with your mouth closed you're distracting me'
July 11, 2012 at 11:42 AM
^Asian that chews with mouth open
July 11, 2012 at 12:33 PM
...so you couldn't open your own mouth to tell them they're distracting? Also, it's people like you who make society more colourful. Thank you.
July 11, 2012 at 12:56 PM
I would be very offended if someone asked me to close my mouth when chewing, even if they did it politely. It's not of their goddamn business.
July 11, 2012 at 3:49 PM
Punch them in the face OP. Then they won't have any reason to chew because they will be drinking from a straw due to no teeth.
July 12, 2012 at 12:38 AM
Learn to be more proactive instead of gagging at every inconsiderate thing that comes your way. I would've laughed if you vomited just from having someone eating obnoxiously next to you.
July 12, 2012 at 3:01 PM
azn guy has a small dick
July 13, 2012 at 1:50 AM
@16: When I can see your ground up food particles being mashed over and over again in your skull, yeah, it becomes my business. It's fucking disgusting, and people need to learn to be more polite. If you were going to a new country that had different customs than your home country, wouldn't you try to learn and fit in with the 'new' customs so that people wouldn't think you were a fucking disgusting person? It's just ignorance and willful isolationism. But most of all, it's gross. Call them on it, and do it during class so that other people can see. If there are informal social repercussions to their actions, they might be more likely to change them.
