OMG:
I thought I was enrolled at the University of Waterloo. Not taking night classes at community college. So why are all my lectures in the evening?

MOD'S Note: You don't like the pretty sunsets?

this OMG

Summer night classes are perfect! Then it's not humid and gross in the lecture hall... blah

  2. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

    I hate 3-hr evening lectures.

  3. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

As if UW is better than a community college. With a community college you at least get a job once you're done.

  4. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

Hi, is this your first day in post-secondary education? Universities have night classes too. There are only so many time slots and so many rooms to accommodate a huge number of classes, so the timetables require evening lectures. It sucks, but it's a reality in every university that I know.

  5. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

    #3 - agreed.

  6. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

3, I have no idea what you're talking about. Waterloo prepares students well for the workforce and it's definitely one of the more practical universities. The school offers plenty of top calibre professional programs in engineering, accounting, actsci, computers, pharm... etc. If you can't find a job after you're done then it's most likely not a professional degree. With that said, I don't even know why people come here if they don't want to go into a professional field.

  7. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

3 sounds like they came into general arts thinking they gonna have an 80k a year job with the degree lol

  8. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

or an environment, science, or math degree! geez.

  9. Blogger FayezK Says:

I love evening classes, they fit my inability to sleep nicely.

  10. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

Hopefully I don't get 80K/year like #7 was talking about. I was already earning that in Alberta working in a factory without a degree.

  11. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

agreed with #9. evening classes are like mid afternoon for me.

  12. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

@10, 80k is 30k more than average per canadian so what are you even trying to say

  13. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

@12 - yeah, that's 60% more than the average Canadian makes a year. Actually quite a considerable difference.

  14. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

    ^ Move to Alberta then.

  15. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

^I already live there as a mechanical engineering professional and make over $100K (more than you will make in your entire life)

  16. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

^LOL work in the oil fields, they start at 100K/year for roughnecks. Money isn't everything. You will still have a small penis.

  17. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

Two friends of mine, one back out west, another here at UW. Both taking Computer Sciences. The friend out west went to a community college, I won't name the college as it is quite unknown. Community college degree - 2 years, with each year slight more expensive than university. As of right now my friend out west is working in Calgary for a computer firm, has a company car, company penthouse to live in, benefits galore, plus travels to the US and Asia monthly. The buddy at UW is struggling to make ends meet to finish the criteria for his degree. His first co-op has some form of error so he went without employment at that time so subsequent co-ops have been affected by such. He will graduate next year but is worried as to where he will find employment and is looking to move out west to find it but never gained any relevant experience during his four years at UW. That is just my anecdote. Take what you want from it.

  18. Blogger RL Says:

@15: Just so you know, 100k isn't that much these days...I'll likely start at smth around that my first year after graduation.

@17: So...you took 2 fringe cases from opposite sides and tried to make a case? I'm not sure you understand that it shows nothing...

  19. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

LOL of course RL would get in on the money talk. He will "likely start" around that, it isn't a fact, it's a personal statement which means he is picking it out of his ass. Nobody cares RL, you're single for a reason.

  20. Blogger RL Says:

^ Nope, not pulling anything, starting salaries are around 100k. It might be a bit under that, hence "likely".

  21. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

lol RL is a troll guys. nobody is that insecure and vapid in real life.

  22. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

If you think Waterloo sucks than why the fuck are you here? If you think you were somehow tricked into thinking you'd graduate and end up ruling the world, then you're a naive fool and you deserve to fail. Don't blame others for being stupid, and don't pretend that there aren't people from this school becoming successful.

  23. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

    ^ lol "people" name three.

  24. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

    ^What's your definition of successful?

  25. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

And again, if you think this school sucks so much and nobody can become successful from this school, then gtfo.

  26. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

^ Typical UW basic mentality. If things don't go your way or have your same ideals they should be banned. Sad really, doomed for failure.

  27. Blogger RL Says:

^ Um, have you actually read your statement? Someone needs to take a logic class.

  28. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

Why does everyone keep bashing UW? Yeah, it's not the *best* school. but it's still a pretty good school. If you're complaining so much, why are you even here? Why don't you go to another one?

  29. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

@26 It's common sense. It's like smashing your head against the wall and complaining that your head hurts. Stop smashing your head into the wall! WTF does it have to do with ideals?

  30. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

Community college = UW. UW fancies being the MIT of the north... MIT is a college... UW receives money from the Canadian government and is public...

  31. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

^ Almost all Canadian universities receive money from the government and are public. What's your point?

  32. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

    @ 30

Why don't you go to one of these schools then? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_private_universities_in_Canada

Oh wait, they all (mostly) suck.

  33. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

    UW: producing hubris since 1990

  34. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

RL, 100k? I'm in the same program as you, who are you kidding..

You're one of those people that go on the internet and over exaggerate their life cuz you're a loser irl.

  35. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

PEOPLE, IT IS HARD TO TAKE YOUR TROLLING SERIOUSLY IF YOU USE ACRONYMS!
