this OMG

Students are ready to make a difference?

Because after the past few years of poor leadership, students are not impressed and have decided to take action. It's great to see this.

There are only so many sex-related posts one can make before other topics become relevant

OP here..i completely agree that it's great students are fed up, but they're not exactly 'taking action'. i wish they would actually make a difference in real life, not just anonymously over omguw...
why don't they come to the execs' offices and talk? why don't they organize some student movement?

OP there are different types of "taking action." I believe with the posting on this site this gives an unscripted look at to how people feel about FEDS. This site seems to be an outlet for these feelings as does one really think the university or FEDS themselves will approve of such critical comments on their own sites? By posting online it shows that people are not alone with their problems and to know that ignoring them will not solve them.

As for going and talking to those parties... sadly it is just that... "talking." I know personally of several rather critical issues regarding administrative policy with the university and chose to "talk" with the university on my own. I was patronized and given a vague statement of acknowledgement stating that "they will look into the problem." Whether it be FEDS or UW admin it seems to be that people need to fight in order to be heard as the administrations are truly patronizing and ignorant to the people they are meant to assist. One person means nothing to them as one can be ignored, a group of people is much harder to.

So by posting we are seeing people with similar thoughts and purposes amalgamating and can see the respective parties respond with similar comments of "come and talk." Unfortunately we have had people that have "tried to talk" and have been ignored.
