OMG:
I had always dismissed the posts about landlords looking for girls only as a couple guys over reacting to a handful of ads. Now that I'm actually looking for a room, I realise how bad it is. This is ridiculous.

this OMG

    I turned my landlord.
They used to rent out to 5 girls.

Then I asked them about a room...
long story short, now they rent out to 5 guys.

It's some of us guys who NEVER cleans up after themselves make landlords hate us. So Fuck you to guys who never clean and get caught by the landlords.

Either that or girls feel uncomfortable living with guys. Usually since they want to walk around naked, store tampons in an easily accessible place, ask a roommate for a tampon, bad history with aggressive guys, have girls only slumber parties, etc etc

    ^ Lesbian orgies?

Have lived with both. Young guys are the biggest slobs around. Young women just don't shut up and gossip/talk 24/7. Older guys stick to their own thing but always have their girlfriends over as said girlfriend pretty much invites herself to live with him. And finally, older women bring home all sorts of trashy guys so you have to constantly keep tabs on your stuff.

^ So which one are you? =)

lots of strange generalizations in here. I'm a chick who has lived with about 10 different female roommates (not including the whole floor of them in res), none of which I knew before moving in. "Usually since they want to walk around naked, store tampons in an easily accessible place, ask a roommate for a tampon, bad history with aggressive guys, have girls only slumber parties, etc etc" -- in my experience, none of these things are true except maybe asking for a tampon (and maybe the storage of them, but I don't know that a male roommate would affect where you put them in their room).

"Young women just don't shut up and gossip/talk 24/7." - Also completely untrue. I have no interest in gossip and neither have half the girls I've lived with; the ones who did do it had quiet moments and certainly didn't do it 24/7.

Personally I just live with girls because I have insane parents who would disown me if I tried to live with a guy (exception seems to be an older landlord), and it's generally useful to have a permanent address, especially when you move at least once a year. I guess there are little pluses like not feeling awkward walking around with a bra on sometimes, or walking back to your room after a shower.

@RL. I was the older guy with the girlfriend who decided to invite herself to live with me. Nothing worse than having a house full of guys with their live-in girlfriends. A house with four bedrooms is not meant to hold eight or more people, as there were a few friends that would also crash for a few nights... er... months.

I lived for the past 4 years with both guys and girls. I actually found the girls to be sloppier in general.
